Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Machine Action Inc. (“Machine Action”, “we”) collects when you join the preorder list at machineaction.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have written it in plain English rather than boilerplate.

What we collect#

• What you give us: your first name, your email address, and any machines you add to your garage (make, model and the label you choose).
• Referral relationships: if you arrived through someone’s invitation, we record who invited you, and if you invite someone, we record the first name and email address you enter so we can send that invitation.
• Technical signals captured at signup: the page you arrived from, any campaign tags in the link, your browser and operating system, language, timezone, screen size, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. We use these to understand where interest comes from and to detect automated abuse.
• Abuse signals: hashed identifiers and timestamps of signup attempts, used for rate limiting. We do not store raw IP addresses for this purpose.

Why we use it#

• To hold your place on the list and let you return to your garage.
• To send you preorder and launch updates, and the invitations you choose to send.
• To keep the list honest: preventing bots, duplicate entries and referral gaming.
• To understand, in aggregate, how people find us.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Bot protection: Cloudflare Turnstile#

The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible challenge that distinguishes people from automated scripts. Turnstile receives information about your device and browser in order to make that judgement. Its use is governed by the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Policy and the Cloudflare Website Terms of Use.

Who processes it#

• Hosting and database: our application and database providers, who store the information described above on our behalf.
• Email delivery: our transactional email provider, which sends confirmations and invitations on our behalf.
• Bot protection: Cloudflare, as described above.

How long we keep it#

We keep your waitlist record until you ask us to delete it, or until the preorder programme closes and there is no longer a reason to hold it. Abuse and rate-limiting records are short-lived and are cleared on a rolling basis.

Your choices#

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it entirely, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message. Write to privacy@machineaction.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights under the GDPR or the CCPA; we honour those requests regardless of where you are.

Children#

The preorder list is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes#

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify people on the list by email.
